About Up & Under

Up & Under offers advanced digital modelling and analysis for archaeology. Our expert skills across digital archaeology in GIS, landscape imaging, modelling, and analysis help historical and heritage Archaeologists, Government, Academics, and Researchers present better digital outputs. Through partnership, we empower our customers with better data. Our toolkit includes: GPR, magnetometry, LiDAR, TLS, multi-spectral, thermal, and other UAV based imaging payloads.

In late 2023, the Up & Under team secured acceptance into the CSIRO ON Prime program, marking a pivotal step towards exploring the Archaeology and Cultural Heritage market in Australia and advancing the growth of our business. The results have proven exceptionally favourable, affirming that Up & Under provides a distinctive range of specialised services that were previously unexplored in the industry’s landscape. This success has not only identified the company as a unique player in a niche marketplace but has also facilitated the establishment of a collaborative network comprising seasoned subject matter experts. These experts bring a wealth of experience garnered from their involvement in cultural and archaeological projects both within Australia and on an international scale.

The Up & Under team have worked and collaborated with many First Nations groups throughout Australia, specifically as part of applied research or heritage management. Successful collaborations come with knowledge of how to respectfully communicate at a range of levels, and the ability to engage with community and understand the cultural significance and sensitivities applied to sites on Country. Collaborations with Aboriginal groups requires recognition of different beliefs and views, and being open to differing perspectives with the overall aim of producing important research outcomes that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Up & Under prides itself on forging solid relationships with community, producing quality outputs, and being an education partner providing hands-on digital archaeological experience to young archaeologists.
